Here's
a picture of a 1st generation Integra...
The 1st generation of Integra's came a 118 HP D16A1. For it's time it made great power from just 1.6L. It was based on the 3rd generation Civic and shares some parts with the 1st generation CRX. This was also the only Integra to have flip up headlights. Here's a picture of a 2nd Generation Integra. These are also identifiable by the headlights. The 2nd Gen Integra came with the B-series of engines. From 90-91 it was the 130HP B18A1 and from 92-93 it was the B18A1 that made 140HP. In 92 and 93 there was also the GS-R which was the B17A1 that made 160HP. This was the first use of VTEC in an Integra. The second generation also brought a totally new and much improved suspension too. It was independent double wishbone all around verse the torsion bars up front and solid beam axle in the rear of the first generation. The 3rd Gen are also characterized by their lights and their much rounder shape than any of the previous generations. The 3rd Gen moved the Integra more upscale. The interior is much improved over the 2G and finally we get cup holders!!! The 2nd and 3rd Gen are very similar suspension wise. The 3rd Gen came with either the B18B1 with 142 HP (RS/LS/GS/SE) or the VTEC B18C1 (GS-R) with 170 HP. In 97 the Type R finally came to America with a 195 HP 1.8L B18C5 VTEC engine. The Type R is revered as the best handling FWD car in the world.
